The Faroe Islands. An unbelievable place in the
middle of the ocean, where the sheep out-number the
people and dramatic cliffs rise straight out of
the sea. And like those cliff s, a new outdoor
culture is emerging. A culture of people who are
returning to the islands with a renewed interest
in exploring nature—not for work or to sustain
themselves as previous generations have done—but
for the fun of it.
Focusing on what’s essential, we stripped away
unnecessary bulk and pushed innovation across
our hiking collections for a lighter, faster,
and more confident hike on any terrain.
The Zion is a blend of 30+ years of hiking boot
know-how, featuring some of the best materials.
The Zion borrowed its shape from our best-
performing trail running shoes for lightweight,
heavy duty trail performance.
Running is better outside. And running outside is
better when you feel connected to the trail, and
to yourself.
Close to the ground and void of a heel rise,
the Bare Access XTR connects trail athletes
to the ground beneath their feet. And balanced
with comfortable, responsive underfoot foam,
runners will discover a naturally agile ride
for miles and miles of trail ahead.
Pulling from our hiking heritage, the Haven was created to keep up with changing seasons. Water-proof leather, a sticky rubber bottom and hard-wearing construction make these boots weatherproof and long-lasting. And with a fit that comes from some of our best hiking boots, feet stay cradled and comfy all year long.
Merrell and Duluth Pack share a common thread - quality craftsmanship. For Merrell, durable boots for discovery, performance, and outside work. And for Duluth Pack, bags that stand the test of time, and the elements.

Jóni & Øssur
Jóni Christiansen and Øssur Eriksfoss are former
members of the Faroese National Gymnastics team,
avid rock climbers, and outdoorsmen. After
capturing them diving off these terrifyingly high
cliffs, we’ll also give them a new title: Brave.
Kat Bernstein is one of two surfers on the Faroe Islands. She grew up learning the waters were a place for fishing and working. But now, she sees them as opportunities to play and be a part of a community building a new outdoor culture.
In the rugged Faroe Islands, local pastor Sverri Steinhólm tends to his flocks. Plural. Born the son of a shepherd, Sverri’s now a pastor. The job can get heavy, so to clear his mind and feed his soul, he runs over these weatherworn cliffs. For Sverri, trail running is spiritual.
Michael Johannesen lives among incredible vistas
and overlooking giant swells. But in the Faroe
Islands, there isn’t a single hiking trail. As
the shop owner of one the islands’ first outdoor
stores, he’s part of a community ushering in a
new culture of outdoor play.
Local travel & lifestyle photographer Rannvá Joensen lives among incredible vistas overlooking giant ocean swells. But in her beautiful home of the Faroe Islands, there isn’t a single hiking trail. As one of the islands’ first hiking guides, she’s a part of a community ushering in a new culture of outdoor play.
