These shoes are AMAZING. I'm a hurdler/jumper on a high school track team, and I run 5Ks in my free time. I don't know if it's a result of these shoes or just a harder training regime, but I went from being slightly flat footed to having a very high arch in a matter of a few months. My feet haven gotten extremely tough, and I rarely chose to wear shoes when I don't have to. I have not tried running completely barefoot yet, but I plan to this summer. I have NEVER gotten shin splints in these. I'm always the one whose legs feel amazing while the rest of the team is plagued with these monsters. I recommend them to all of my runner friends who get shin splints often! Everyone (including myself) thinks they're really attractive and are amazed at how light weight they are. I actually like jumping in them more than I do in actual jumping spikes! Thank you Merrell for helping my get to district championships in my freshman year (: For anyone considering these shoes: Just a warning that the first week may be tough. I didn't have a chance to ease into them, and in the first few days of running I was getting major blisters on the bottom of my feet and my calves were aching a little. But I blame my old Nikes for that, not my Merrells! Also, when sizing, get whichever fits very snug, as they will stretch out.

Wore these to work at the hospital, first time, no socks, for much longer than I thought (add-ons made my workday go from an expected 2 hours to 5 hours) and then ran errands for a couple more hours. No blisters, no pain, comfortable. LOVE THESE SHOES.
