Comfort above function The boots are extremely comfortable - and we have been repeat buyers of the Moab because they can be worn straight from the box. However my daughter has experienced the same issue as is noted elsewhere on these pages: the sole comes away from the upper in the area where the forefoot creases; the stitching of the suede upper in this same area has failed; the boot is no longer waterproof....even in wet grass and puddles. It is impossible to recommend a premium boot that simply does not perform as expected.

one of the most comfortable boots out there..but I have been a big fan of these boots for a number of years now, in fact this review is for my 5th pair.I have never had any issues with comfort and i find them very supportive which is why i continue to buy another pair as and when required,I have had numerous issues with the water proofing so as such i tend to treat them as dry weather foot wear....but The pair i have now, although still not fully water proof, have fallen apart at the toe area, the soles have come away from the uppers rendering the boots unable to prevent dust, dirt and gravel from getting into the foot bed which has rendered an 11 month old pair of boots fit for the bin,The previous pairs i have had normally go on until i have worn the soles out so for this to happen is a big disappointment.... Such a shame as otherwise a quality pair of boots.

Really disappointing experience, given I have been a fan of the brand for a number of years Id like to start by saying I have bought a number of different Merrell products over the years, mostly trail running and have not been able to fault them. My wife currently uses a pair of Siren Sport and has been happy with them for walking and my current running shoes is the Bare Access. So I have been a big Merrell advocate until now In a way thats why it makes the Moabs failure to last so disappointing. I purchased a pair ( new) 15 October 2016. Used them for general walking...mostly the dog. No more than 6 miles a day on flat terrain, across fields and occasionally woods( we live in Northamptonshire). From March 2017 they began to leak as the sole began to come away from the manin shoe body. After 5 months of not particularly hard use that is poor. I have had to revert to my Berghaus boots, that are 10 years old and now in better condition that the 5 month old Moabs. Im sorry to say that I really cannot recommend these boots and would urge potential buyers to think carefully before purchasing. The boots are really comfortable and until the leak and parting of the sole I was really happy with them but I would say that a boot of this calibre, by this brand should be made to last longer than 5 months before serious degradation.

Comfortable but short lived I bought a pair of Moab boots as my first pair of Merrell's, having been recommended them by family. However I echo most of the comments below - they were comfortable but did not last long before they began to leak. The sole has now completely split from the upper on front end of the left boot (as I found out while fording a stream). I was very disappointed that these only lasted me 2 years.

This boot is not what it supposed to be. I'm on my second pair of Moab's. The first were superb and got me easily through the 500mile Camino de Santiago trail. The second pair are a disaster. They arrived clearly boxed and labelled as UK13 but strangely were found to be US12 (UK11.5)! Additionally, the uppers were all man-made material and clearly labelled as such. They are sold as leather uppers, as indeed my first pair are! So far, both the retailer and Merrell have gone quiet on me and I am left with a pair of sub-standard boots.
