Feeling fatigued? Irritable? That something undefinable is missing in your life. We have an idea of what may be the case, and how to fix it.
Symptoms to look for:
You dread the sound of your alarm clock
You don’t care much about anything
You feel totally restless and that something’s missing
The solution? It seems obvious to us. Get outside!
Step One: Get outside
There’s no question that being cooped up in an office or even the big city day-in, day-out has a negative impact upon our wellbeing. If you’re feeling the strain, then it’s time to return to nature. In the city and can’t afford to make the trip to the country? Parks and green spaces provide a welcome break from the urban grind too!
Step Two: Leave the formalities in the office
On the trails you can drop the formalities and the stuffy world of office politics. Leave the tie at home and enjoy the great views, fresh air and reliance on your body away from the desk and your screens. Which brings us to…
Step Three: Leave the tech at home
Ditch the smartphone. Drop the laptop. Abandon the tablet. The outdoors is about getting away from the constant noise of connected life, and the many hollow distractions of the internet. If you absolutely must be contactable, consider getting a basic feature phone – they won’t set you back a great deal anymore (think £10-£20) and their batteries last for days on end. Best of all, your email, Twitter and Facebook friends won’t be able to reach you. Perfect.
