I have owned a pair of the Spire Peak boots for 2 years now, and only recently have thought to replace them, as I have worn down the soles in one area. They are stylish enough to wear with a skirt and tights downtown, but rugged enough to wear snowshoeing. As the other reviewers have commented, they truly are waterproof--have no fear when torrential rains come and clog the drain pipes...you CAN cross the street! I wear them daily through the New England fall and winter, and love their versatility.

I have to tell you about my recent adventures in my merrell spire boots--- I bought them and the next week took them on an adventure vacation to a bisonquest ranch in Montana. I wore them to feed buffalo in the snow, ride horses, herd cows in the pouring down rain (they really are waterproof!) and then the next week I am back at work on the east coast where they are comfortable enough to walk to work in and cute enough to pair with my suits and skirts. these boots rock. 5 stars for a product that actually delivers on all its promises!

I absolutely love these boots. They are so comfortable and I can use my orthotics in them. I bought them 2 winters ago when I was living in Chicago and wore them everyday for 6 months straight. I walked everywhere in Chicago and throughout those 6 months they were warm and felt more comfortable than wearing sneakers. Last winter I was back in California and wore them from November through March. They have held up very well and are still just as comfortable. I did have to take them into a shoe repair place to replace the sticky rubber sole as it was peeling away from the edges but other than that, they are lasting quite well. I usually have to replace my sneakers every 6 months because the support and cushion wear away so fast. I love that I can wear these to work where the dress code is business casual yet I can walk through the snow and puddles on my way to work.
