I ordered the Chameleon Arc 2 in preparation for deer hunting this fall which this year was going to entail A LOT of hiking. Unfortunately for me, my schedule did not allow for me to "break-in" these shoes prior to hitting the mountain in search of my deer. The first time I put them on was for a seven plus mile hike up and down steep terrain and through mud and snow. I expected to return to camp with sore feet/legs and a few blisters. Instead I had warm dry feet and was ready to go again for two more days. Thanks Merrell for rock solid boots that provide support, comfort, warmth and keep my feet dry. Oh, and quality shoes that do not require a break-in period is a BIG bonus!!

The look is great. I wanted something waterproof and good looking and this seemed the best combination. However, the tongue is linked to the shoe through a polyester material. In the space between the tongue and the shoe, water goes through this material. If at least the tongue went underneath the shoe. The consequence was that I still got wet everyday, maybe just not as much as with non waterproof shoes.

I usually don't order any type of shoe over the internet because all manufacturing is not created equal and sizes can vary depending on the type. I liked the look and the postive reviews convinced me to order. After trying the shoes inside for several hours I determined that I need more toe room for hiking in rough terrain, especially when going down hills. I sent them back to exchange for a half size larger and was almost blown away at the speed at which I got them back. It was only 8 days until I had them back. Merrell really is on top of their game as a company that stands behind their products and with excellent customer service. Love the boots and can't wait to take on some hiking in Colorado real soon.

I would like to first say Merrell's customer service is the best I've ever come across. If you look at my previous post you will see I was not happy with my purchase. Merrell contacted me right away and were extremely eager to come up with a solution. They exchanged my boots with no hassle at all and were able to get my new pair to me before I left on my trip to Maine. I'm wearing my boots now, and have to say they are incredibly comfortable and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. Everyone should shop Merrell not just for their excellent products but for their outstanding customer service too. They are an absolute pleasure to do business with. Just be aware this shoe does run small; I had to go up a full size. Thanks Merrell, you rock!!!!!!!
