Mankind first discovered fire and then started making shoes to walk around. Thousands of years of shoe evolution culminated with Barefoot Life Excursion Glove. They are simply the best shoes I've ever had! Well, I'm actually lying because they are tied with the Merrell Road Glove (v1), which were exactly the same but in a sporty-running version (sadly, the Road Glove has changed after v1, widening the sole and it just doesn't cut it anymore). Getting back to this model, they literally fit like a glove around your feet and they are so lightweight that you even forget you are wearing them. The 0mm drop is great as I'm sick of elevated heel, and the 4 mm cush provides a barefoot feeling but just enough padding to walk around without feeling pain each time you hit a small rock or anything. With other shoes, especially when they are super cushioned and padded, my feet tend to get tired after standing up for a while or walking around but these are just absolutely amazing. You feel very stable in those because it's your body being directly connected to the ground, as opposed to having the shoes trying to hold you up. I like the light-touch arch support and the narrowness of the shoe, yet the front area gets wider for your toes to feel very relaxed. The look of the Denim Blue is absolutely brilliant, and I'm holding myself not to buy another pair in another colour. I wear them to work everyday. obviously, they're casual, perfect for jeans, but they don't look like you are wearing a pair of trainers. Note to Merrell: please don't alter the model in the foreseeable future; update the look and colors but keep the same design as you got it to perfection. Conversely, bring back the Road Glove to what they were and the cool yellow-orange colours!

Good points: * The shoe is very well made * Quality materials * Fair price * Nice and wide toebox without feeling "loose" Can improve: * Provides a fair amount of arch support. Arch support has no place in a "barefoot" shoe - it weakens the arches and for people with low arches can lift the heel a little thus moving away from the "zero drop" natural foot position. This becomes less of an issue if the Glove is only meant to be a "transition" shoe. * Barefooters conditioned to walking barefoot in the cold will probably find this shoe too warm even in frigid conditions. People whose feet are not conditioned to the cold (e.g. those in the process of making the transition to barefooting or barefooters living in warm climates) will likely not view this as a significant issue. Overall: A quality transition shoe. Too structured and warm for seasoned barefooters.
