Grab your friends, get a ridiculously wicked costume and scurry on over to a SPOOKtacular race this year. Burn off those extra Halloween candies you’ve been snacking on and just have fun! Here are some of our favorite Halloween races you should consider participating in this year for a howling good time.
1. Devils Chase 6.66
Where: Salem, MA
When: Saturday, October 31, 2015
Cost: $45, After Oct 1 $50, $55 on Race Day
The Spooky Scoop: Racers from all over the world go to this very unique “devil themed” race. 98% of the 2000+ racers will be sporting their best Halloween costume, with majority being devil costumes. Not feeling mainstream? Deviled eggs or deviled food cake it up! Post race, there will be zombie thriller dance that you can get freaky to! It’s going to be one HELL of a time.
2. RUN SCREAM RUN
Where: Ypsilanti, MI
When: Saturday, October 10, 2015
Cost: $34 before noon October 8, 2015 and $40 Race Weekend (10-9-15 &10-10-15)
The Spooky Scoop: Scream your way into getting a new 5k PR! While racing through Michigan’s Premier Haunted Thrill park there will be people (in scary costumes of course) trying to scare you, and chase you until you finish back at Wiard’s Orchard. This thrilling race, will definitely get your heart racing. ALSO, the race ends with cider and donuts….. need I say more?
3. The Great Pumpkin Haul
Where: Littleton, Colorado
When: Saturday, October 24th, 2015
Cost: $4o before 7/15/2015, $45 until 10/10/2015 and then it’s 50$
The Spooky Scoop: This race is only two miles…… but there’s the catch…. You have to HAUL a pumpkin the whole race! Give your biceps a workout (To hold more Halloween candy), for a good cause.
4) Sleepy Hollow Halloween 10K
Where: Sleepy Hollow, New York
When: Saturday
Cost: $40 until October 15th, Race day fee $50
Spooky Scoop: This authentic Halloween race takes us through sleepy hollow’s treasured sights such as the headless horseman bridge, Sleepy hollow cemetery and the od dutch church. All I can say is… you better ready to run for your life!
5) Panic In the Dark
Where: Lowell, MA
When: October 24, 2o15
Cost: $40
Spooky Scoop: Imagine running in really haunted areas…. in the dark. Are you brave enough to endure one of the scariest races in the country? Bring a nightlight and be ready for your biggest nightmare.
6) Boxer BOOgie 5k/3k
Where: Schertz, Texas
When: Sunday October 25th, 2015
Cost: $30 Before October 1, $35 after and $40 day of race
Spooky Scoop: Want to bring your furry friend to the race with you? No problem! Race proceeds benefits Alamo Boxer Rescue. Dressing up your dog is encouraged to add to the fun. Be the first 200 to finish, and win free boxer shorts!
