Great shoe I'm glad I picked this shoe up after reading the positive reviews on runrepeat.com. As a lightweight, stable shoe with a lower drop (6mm), I bought this to replace some older heavier trail shoes I had. First impressions: I can really feel the difference. They feel very light and responsive. The lower drop makes it easier for midfoot landings, rather than heel. I'd say they have a lower profile/midsole than a lot of shoes, but that gives you the connectivity and responsiveness. They almost feel like a beefed up astro turf football trainer - lightweight, fast, responsive, grippy, with a sleek (slightly narrow) profile, but rugged enough to tackle those trails. And to top it off, the Dark Slate colourway looks awesome, cool blue with grey, which won't be spoiled by muck and dirt. Nice!

Poor traction and mud shedding ability Bought 2 pairs of these for autumn/winter running on the South Downs. On my first run there was a small amount of rain and the shoes could not keep any traction on the wet bridleway past Cissbury ring. To make matter worse, the soles could not shed the mud and therefore the amount of mud increased and made the traction even worse (no traction in the first place). I've been running for the past 2 years in Salomon X-scream 3D (city trail shoes) with no problems unless it's mid winter and the Inov-8 Mudrocs have come out. Please, don't buy these shoes for trail running.
