So comfortable I am delighted with these. They are extremely comfortable and in particular give plenty of toe room. There is nothing rubbing on the inside (as reported by a previous review). I have worn them a lot and they are as good as new.

Great shoe design let down by poor manufacturing I've been searching for a ventilated pair of walking shoes and was pretty excited to find these. As expected, Merrell shoes are smaller than other brands so the 10.5 I ordered fitted perfectly (I'm actually a 9). Wide toe box (very wide) suits my wide feet even though this is a medium width according to Merrell. Great ventilation, you can feel the breeze through the mesh. So far so good. I read a couple of reviews on Amazon stating that where the tongue meets the side of the shoe on the inside there is some rough material sticking out that digs into your foot near your toes. This happened to me. Everytime the shoe flexes the corner of a piece of material digs into my foot. Running my fingers inside you can see the tongue cover is supposed to cover this as it does on the other side (and both sides of the right shoe). But the left side of the left shoe is the problem. This is the same area as others have reported. Maybe a patterning problem at manufacturing? Whatever the cause Merrell really should be doing QC and realising they CANNOT sell these with this known issue. I now have to find some soft material to glue over this piece that sticks out. I was really looking forward to getting these and am now very dissapointed. These are my third pair of Merrells :(
