This is my fourth pair of these boots ( over some years!) and they remain really comfortable, waterproof - and I don't know what I'll do if they stop making them. Great grip in all weathers. Wouldn't wear anything else on my feet while out walking. 10/10

5 stars to Customer Services who have just sent me a pair of MOAB boots to replace Siren boots which leaked like a sieve. (hardly worn but purchased over a year ago ) Fingers crossed these boots live up to the description.

Got these as a replacement for very leaky Sirens. Very comfortable and so far (only 3 weeks) no leaks. Customer service for replacements is generally good.

  • Comfortable but fell apart

I got the merrell moab in December last year and was initially very impressed, they are super comfy straight out of the box, lightweight and seemed perfect, I wore them for around 4 months on regular walks with my dog of around 4 miles per day and had no problems. The boots were then not worn during the summer months until I walked a part of the Camino de Santiago this October...after 170km on mostly made trails they completely fell apart, the synthetic fabric around the toe area has split away from the sole on both boots and leaks terribly, I can't imagine why Merrell has used this cheap fabric on such an important part of the boot, suede or rubber would have been far more suitable, I can only imagine that they are cutting corners and costs. Additionally, the insoles have stretched and folded over into painful little ridges around the heel cup which resulted in blisters, the soles are great around the heel, but quite thin in the toe area and have worn on the left boot. I walked this same trail a few years ago in a pair of keen newport which had hardly any wear to the soles after 800km and were useable for another 3 years. Ultimately I had to glue and tape these boots together until I reached a city and could buy a new pair, very disappointing Merrell. Overall the Moab is a comfortable boot and is fine for short walks on paved paths, but doesn't make the grade for anything more rugged.
