I bought these to replace my Siren Ventilator's that I had for 5 years and eventually wore out. Love these shoes, very light weight and comfortable. I am noticing a bit of pressure on the top sides of the foot where the tongue is folded around but it is nothing uncomfortable, just need to get used to it. Fit is true to size and love the olive colour. Didn't need the gortex as I have a pair of Merrell gortex mid-boots (love those too btw!). There has been no 'breaking-in' process, just put them on and go! Quite a bit of support for a low-cut shoe which is good as I tend to be an ankle-roller. I will more than likely wear these right out over the next few years and then replace them again with another great pair of Merrell's. Whatever you guys are doing to make great shoes, keep doing it. Keeping me and my household happy with hikers!!
