Love boot but not waterproof I LOVE these boots. I work 56+ hours a week in 16 hour shifts. I've never had a problem with sore feet in these boots. From day one they were comfortable, with basically no break in period. I tried on 27 pairs from 8 different brands before I decided to go with these. I would recommend them to anyone. I have walked 1,111 miles in these shoes (thanks Fit bit!). I was told that averaging 30 miles a week, these would prob last 6-12 months. I am on month 8 and there is very little tread wear. I've included a picture so you can see for yourself. Ignore The mouflon poop. The only thing I have noticed is a little loosening overall, which is to be expected. The reason for only 4 stars is... These shoes are not waterproof. About 2 weeks in, I was helping participate in an Easter Egg hunt in Nevada City. My shoes were completely soaked after 10 min in the wet grass. It took 36 hours to air dry completely. Since then I had had a couple of raining days or puddle mishaps. The shoes get wet, but they always dry with no major issues. But we are now moving into the snow season where I work... So I bought the gore-tex version of the Moab 2. They came today (hence the review) and are just as comfortable right out of the box. Let's hope they are waterproof.

Great boot but started leaking I received these boots from my daughter at Christmas 22 months ago. They were the most comfortable boots I have ever worn right out of the box. Wonderful! I wore them around the house for a week for break in even though they didn't feel like any was needed. I then used them on a church trip to Big Bend and they were everything I could ask for. Another trip to Big Bend this year and great. But, when I put them on after only four weekend trips to use in back after I had water 3" deep on my driveway the right one leaked, I did that again this past weekend and both leaked and my socks were completely soaked from the toes to the heel and half way up the sock around the foot. I notice there are more comments on this but cannot find the water entry points and I'm sure it's too late for help.?

Not Waterproof!!!! First off let me tell you how comfortable and supportive these shoes are. I had foot problems before I bought these. I couldn't keep wearing regular work boots anymore they'd just killed my feet. These boots were definitely the solution. Comfortable even after 12 hour days. True to size excellent grip great arch support all around great boot......Except wet grass will leave your feet soaked!!!!! As long as your on a dry trail I'd say these are the best boots out there

Not Waterproof! I was so happy with the comfort of this boot but my toes were soaked on my last hike in the White Mountains. I was told by Merrill that it might be an irregularity and that I should trade them in for another pair. Maybe the Gortex will be waterproof... I feel let down by Merrill. They should not advertise a boot as waterproof when they are not.

Would love to LOVE not HATE This is my first time buying Merrell boots. Just moved to the Rocky Mountains and was looking for a good dry boot that can take the punishment of the Mountains. At first the fit and feel were great, I was very optimistic. But my optimism quickly faded into disappointment. Within the first mile my feet were all but soaked. I have always heard great things about Merrell boots but this makes me question the boot. In hindsight I wish I would have spent the extra money and got the gortex waterproof boots as these are pretty much worthless on any trail with damp conditions. Which is every trail here. I would love to enjoy this boot as I love the looks but are Very disappointed and would consider a different brand in the future
