We’re approaching the end of GODZone now, and Team Merrell has put in a superhuman effort so far, with only a small part of the 500km race to go.

After the 101km kayak segment, the team embarked on a 25km bike ride down Gore Bay, followed by a 25km hike around the Kaikoura coast. The hike included its own difficulties, not least of which were the impenetrable Matagouri bush, and crossing the Waiau River. The team were chest deep in water!

As they approach the final stretch, our Alphas already have begun thinking about the home comforts and luxuries they’re missing. Ben can’t wait to sample some of the local cider, while Tobias is craving pizza and a glass of wine.

The team are entering the final leg of the epic trail now, and we’ll be there to welcome them on Friday afternoon. One more update to follow…
