I bought these less than a week ago while out looking for a classic running shoe. I spotted these out of the corner of my eye and noted that they looked like an enclosed rafting shoe which is precisely what I wanted for my job. I work in a hospital emergency department and I needed something breathable but with the support of a shoe. I purchased an other pair of Merrells months ago and loved how, unlike many shoes I have tried in the past, there is room for my little pinky toe. I was concerned about the minimalist drop in the Proterra for long periods of standing, but I decided to try them anyway and it was the best choice I have made in foot wear thus far. They are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I rarely wear any other shoe any more, I even opt for these over the running shoes I went to buy. The support is unmatched and the breath-ability makes it comfortable to even wear these without socks.

I figured that these would be a good quality hiking shoe & all around athletic shoe.The 1st time I put them on, I knew something was different. Not only are they the very best hiking shoe I've ever had, but they are THE BEST PAIR OF SHOES I'VE EVER WORN ! For a guy who's had foot surgery on the R side & Achilles Tendon surgery on L, the confidence they provide me regarding balance is exceeded only by the supreme comfort of this shoe. They are a cut above.

These are probably the most comfortable shoes I've worn. I've only had it for about a week, but they've exceeded my expectations. They fit perfectly, breathe nicely, and they seem to handle well in the rain. Great shoes!

I believe this shoe was secretly molded for my foot! I put it on - and it seriously fit the grooves perfectly. Great for wider feet, and amazingly comfortable - lightweight too! This is the first time I've ever purchased Merrell products - but will not be the last. Very impressed. I am extremely happy with these shoes!

I am very pleased with this shoe. It's very comfortable and looks better than I expected (I let my wife pick the color). It is also sturdy enough to hike up Mt. Monadnock in NH while lugging our 1-year old daughter in a backpack carrier. No blisters, no foot pain, no falls! The trail was dry, so I didn't get to test out the traction on wet rocks. So far so good!
