I believe this shoe was secretly molded for my foot! I put it on - and it seriously fit the grooves perfectly. Great for wider feet, and amazingly comfortable - lightweight too! This is the first time I've ever purchased Merrell products - but will not be the last. Very impressed. I am extremely happy with these shoes!

I am very pleased with this shoe. It's very comfortable and looks better than I expected (I let my wife pick the color). It is also sturdy enough to hike up Mt. Monadnock in NH while lugging our 1-year old daughter in a backpack carrier. No blisters, no foot pain, no falls! The trail was dry, so I didn't get to test out the traction on wet rocks. So far so good!

I had used Merrell hiking shoes but never their athletic shoes. I am overwhelmingly pleased. It has tons of support on the bottom but feels as if nothing is on top of your foot. I am in Kuwait and use them daily as my gym and running shoe. Ill never buy a different shoe for working out again.

Since I need something with good support and a high arch I bought these on Saturday. Wore them all day today, my feet are not tired and support was good. Walking arouind you really don't feel like you have them on, very light great support.

I ordered these for some vacation day hikes and dog walk in Southern California. I was pleasantly surprised at their comfort right out of the box. I'm used to the"barefoot" feel of the Merrell Edge Glove but I can say that there is a decent amount of tactile sensation of the ground in the Proterra. I walked 3-4 mi a day in these the first week I received them with no soreness. They do have a lightweight but solid feel that splits the difference between barefoot and a light walking/hiking shoe.
