Route

Start at "Fjällparkeringen" in Bruksvallarna, follow the trail up to the mountain hut and then follow the trail along the mountain underneath the summit and take the first trail down to the right. It can be quite tricky to find this one so use the "Terrängkartan" app to help youas you! Follow this trail all the way back to "Fjällparkeringen" were you started. The trail is sometimes wet, sometimes snowy, but always very beautiful. It's approximately a 7km loop.

The Look

Sophie Merrell Hiking Club

A great lighter option to hike in if you don't like to hike with boots. For this hike these are perfect!

A comfortable and breathable t-shirt, I like mine a bit over-sized.

Field Notes:

This hike is so accessible and you are already up on the mountain when you start your hike which I love! It's a great feeling to not have to do an hour of hiking just to get up there! As a special reward for your efforts, there is a traditional mountain hut at the summit that serves waffles! I sometimes run this trail, sometimes hike but always take my dog.

Working in the outdoors lets me push myself both creatively and physically.

When To Visit

All year around if you ask me. Summertime and fall this is perfect for a hike or run and during the winter you can walk the same way on skis and ski down.

Q&A:

How did you become a director and photographer?

I started with photography when I was 17 as a fun thing on the side of school to earn extra money. I didn't even know that you could do this full time. After some years it all went very well for me and then I decided to give it a go full time and 6 moths later I had Nike as my biggest client which was insane! And the rest is history I guess.

What do you love about your work?

The people, the environment and when you get to push yourself both creatively and physically!

Top 3 places to go hiking in Sweden?

The mountains and the archipelago are definitely the top and don't really have to say more because there are endless of options here! Otherwise you have the classic trials like "Sörmlandsleden"Kungsleden" and "Roslagsleden"

What do you love about hiking?

I just love being outdoors! And I love that there are so many ways of being outdoors! You can hike, bike, run, climb etc so you can experience the same spot in so many different ways! One day you can hike a trail and the next day you can bike it. Beeing outdoors makes me so happy and makes me feel so good.

What is your non-safety hiking essential?

You should always bring a map and compass, so if bad wether comes in you can find your way back. And then obviously know how to use the map and the compass! ;)
