Route:

I designed this one myself and can't find it on Alltrails so here are all the details:
You start at RAW-Gelände, which is super cool visually and full of personality. Then walk to Boxhagener Platz, a lovely square that’s perfect for a weekend stroll. Next you'll get to the VooStore area where you can have a coffee break before heading to Görlitzer Park and finally Maybachufe, where you're right by the water. A proper taste of Berlin!

Even though it's an urban hike, you should wear appropriate footwear and clothing and bring water.

Field Notes:

What I really love about this hike is that it takes you through so many different sides of Berlin – it’s like getting a crash course in the city’s character. Every stop along the way feels like a must-see.
The VooStore area is one of my favorites – it has some of the coziest cafés and gives you that classic Kreuzberg feeling. Görlitzer Park brings in a bit of nature and space to breathe. And when you end at Maybachufer, especially if the sun’s out, the vibe is just unbeatable – chilled, lively, and right by the water.
For me, this route really shows the best of all worlds: gritty Berlin energy at RAW, chill altbau charm at Boxi, Kreuzberg café culture, and that laid-back, natural feel at the canal. It’s the kind of walk where you truly feel the city.

When To Visit

This route is always a vibe. Sundays can get super busy, but that’s also when the energy is high and there’s a lot to see and experience. During the week it’s more relaxed and peaceful, which also has its charm. Honestly, just go whenever you feel like it – as long as you enjoy it, you’re doing it right.

Q&A:

Why is urban hiking a great way to explore a new city?

I love urban hiking because it’s the perfect mix of moving your body, getting your steps in, and exploring a city in a really personal way. Especially when you're new somewhere, like I am in Berlin, it’s such a cool way to discover new places and get to know the city step by step. You wouldn’t find half of these spots if you were just taking public transport or looking things up online. You never really know what you’ll stumble upon – and that’s the fun of it.

How did you start your IG and why, what has been the best thing to happen through the platform?

Even before Instagram, I always enjoyed being in front of the camera and documenting my life.I’m a very creative person, and Instagram just became the perfect way to express that.
The best thing about it so far has been all the amazing people I’ve connected with and gotten to know through the platform. Also, seeing how much I’ve improved in my work over time and building such a wonderful community. Plus, all the opportunities that came along—traveling, collaborating, and just having a great time doing what I love.

Where would you most love to go hiking in the world?

I’d love to explore amazing nature and mountains, maybe somewhere like Madeira — I’ve been there once for a waterfall hike, and it was incredible. Other than that, places like the Swiss Alps, Patagonia in South America, or even the Canadian Rockies look absolutely stunning and so inspiring for hiking. I’m really drawn to spots where nature feels wild and untouched, and you can just lose yourself in the views.

What words of encouragement would you give to someone looking to start hiking?

Don’t put too much pressure on yourself — the most important thing is to have fun. Just enjoy the time, explore the city at your own pace, and keep going. You’ll notice how you improve over time and feel really good about it. Listen to your body, do what feels right for you, and gradually plan longer hikes. It’s all about enjoying the journey!
