Route

Start at Simple Coffee, head up toward Villa Léandre for that postcard-perfect calm, then slip into the peaceful Square Suzanne Buisson. From there, discover the Vines of Montmartre, stop by Les 5 Marches café, and climb to Sacré-Cœur via Parc Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet. Take a breath at Square Nadar, then make your way down to the secret garden of the Musée de la Vie Romantique. It's a local loop full of charm and elevation, perfect for urban hiking.

Field Notes:

Montmartre isn’t just postcard pretty, it’s full of stories, quiet corners and unexpected views. It’s a place where time slows down, where ivy creeps over stone walls and where dogs play at the foot of the Sacré-Cœur. This loop offers a more local, intimate vision of Montmartre, away from the usual tourist stops. I love how the hills and varied paths make it feel like a mini hike in the middle of the city. Pro tip: go early for soft light and empty streets, and always end with a pastry.

Good To Know

Avoid weekends if you’re looking for calm. The paths can be slippery when wet and stairs are everywhere, so embrace the leg workout.

"The trail doesn’t care if you’re fast, stylish or experienced. It just wants you to show up."

When To Visit

Weekday mornings. Every season has its charm. Blue skies or snowflakes, Montmartre wears them all well.

Why is urban hiking a great way to explore a new city?

It makes you feel the city, not just see it. You engage with it step by step, corner by corner. It’s slow travel, but with purpose.

How did you get into music and who are your top 3 musical influences?

I started singing in my school choir as a kid, but only shared my own songs 2 years ago. I love French pop like Angèle, Clara Luciani and Hervé. And I’ve got a soft spot for funk legends like Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Otis Redding.

What was your favourite part of your MHC event in Montmartre?

The street concert. That magic moment when people stopped walking, just listened, and we all shared something real without screens.

What words of encouragement would you give to someone looking to start hiking?

Start small. Be curious. Don’t wait to feel ready. The trail doesn’t care if you’re fast, stylish or experienced. It just wants you to show up.
