Love the Chameleon Storm 7 Mid Gortex shoe

I am very pleased with this shoe / boot. Very light weight & fl xible with great lacing for adjustability. Very comfortable out of the box but will break-in before extended multi day treks. New heel cup style and outer support is awesome. Have previously used Merrell MOTB lie and mid Boots with great success on 400+ mile treks. Expect to be even more impressed with these.

its ok with padded socks

there is no padding in these shoes. They look very nice in the pictures but the material is not taunt as others because there is no padding to support the fabric. I can feel all the hard rubber parts on the size and the toe but with thick padded socks it makes it bearable. If they made them with padding I would recommend them. I really just like how they look

I bought my first pair of Merrell hiking boots around 10 years ago and never tried any other brand since. I recently had a need for a new pair of boots came across the Chameleon 7 storm mid Gore-Tex and was impressed by the design of the material. It reminds me of carbon fiber. These boots are light weight and very comfortable right out of the box. My only regret is I discovered these boots at the tail end of the model run and would of liked a pair of the castlerock color.

I have owned several pairs of Merrells as well as several other popular brands (Salomon, Danner, Sorel) and I continue to come back to them. I had purchased the MQM Flex Goretex and lets just say it was the first boot i purchased that i was horribly disappointed in. In 6 months icame back after the MQM started falling apart and I purchased these in the Olive color that MERRELL NEEDS TO BRING BACK!!!! They are an everyday wear for me in South Carolina in a law enforcement training environment. I have been wearing them for both work and casual wear and they make my feet happy even after long days standing and walking everywhere. Outstanding boot and if they bring back the green i will be buying two more pairs. Quite possibly the best boot I've had. I just hope they hold up for a long time!

This shoe has a hard sole,great for hiking and fits great,have not had a chance to wear them in any wet areas to check the goretex yet....
