Hurts ankles

Overall, a great boot and I was really excited about this purchase but the eyelets on these boots are digging into my ankles and after a few minutes it was actually to point where it was so uncomfortable that I took them off and put on my old boots. After looking at them, I found that the metal eyelet connectors on the inside of the boot were the culprits. Can't see any way that I can tighten these boots up without those digging into my ankles.

A gimmick that doesn't hold up

While I like the overall look and don't mind the comfort of them, the "arctic grip" feature is clearly just a marketing gimmick that doesn't provide any grip on the ice whatsoever

lace eyelet hurts ankle

I really, really liked these boots. I have 4 other pairs of Merrell footwear. Love their products. But the lower metal eyelet on the left boot lace started to bite into my ankle after about 10 minutes. Very disappointing as I said earlier, I loved everything else about them. It was bad enough that I had to return them after wearing them in the house for about 20 minutes to try them before going outside. Maybe it would have gone away after a break in period. I don't know. But I didn't want to wear them outside and be stuck with them if the discomfort was permanent. A real shame. Loved the colour, the weight, the fit, the waterproofing.

My feet got cold

I’m a mail carrier in Colorado out on a cold night delivery my feet were cold all day in snow I tried very thick winter socks hard to put boots on.other than than that lightweight

Still at break-in stage

I have about 25 miles on these boots and most areas are great. They're light, dry, warm, all reasons I had hoped for in purchasing these Merrell boots. I have one problem though; there's a spot on the outside, just above the ankle where there is a chafe spot that blisters if I'm not careful and don't change lace tension, usually loosening them to a point that doesn't work so well on a hike of 6 or so miles. I think i'm going to have to try another lacing scheme if this doesn't break in. I also haven't really tried out the issue of warmth in any extreme. I'll update when I do if it is possible.
