I have large feet with various problems that make finding a comfortable shoe problematical. Barefoot style Merrel’s work perfectly for my needs! Thank you, thank you.

Faith in the brand translates to a new footwear experience. - par , janv. 27, 2020

When I put them on they felt weird compared to my chameleons. I spent about an hour walking around adjusting the lases trying different things then I took them for a run and I was not disappointed. They were so light and encouraged me to get up off of my heels onto the balls of my foot lengthening my stride making running easy by comparison. After 30 years I had decided it was time to train for a 10k. My last run had been the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington DC, which I had run in size 13 New Balance. I had been hiking in Chameleon 7’s ever since I had found them about three years after the marathon, so about 27 years now, two pair every year as a where of them 24 / 7 alternating between the old pair and the new pair of wearing them out donating the old ones to the Salvation Army, as even a worn out pair has got much more life in it then most. I’m really excited about training again and that 62 I’ll probably post a good time for my age bracket thanks to a fresh step in these trail runners.

The Rise and Fall of Bare Access - par , janv. 06, 2020
2/ 5 étoiles
I was introduced to Merrell and the Bare Access line of barefoot shoes shortly after the Bare Access 3 was released. I fell in love and my world was completely turned on its head by the revelation of barefoot shoes. They were my work shoes and survived almost three years of 40-hour work weeks of rigorous physical labor. I loved them so much that I bought a second pair in a different color for all my non-work hours. I still have those. They're awesome. However, my work shoes eventually died, and the Bare Access 3 was no longer being made, so I replaced them with the Bare Access Flex. They were still extremely comfortable, but the toe box was slightly narrower and the material quality had taken a noticeable step down and started developing tears in the stitching fairly quickly. After roughly eighteen months, they split beyond repair and need to be replace. The shoe I replaced the Bare Access Flex with was the Bare Access XTR. I received the shipping confirmation from Merrell on 10/11/19. I imagine they arrived no more than five days after. When I tried them on that first day, I was immediately struck by the comparatively narrower toe box and how they were slightly larger than all the other size 9's I've ordered from Merrell in the past several years, but the materials seemed sturdier. I grew to like them despite the flaws and adjusted accordingly. However, roughly a month ago, my pair of Bare Access XTR shoes started to split at the outer edge of my right forefoot. Yes, these shoes started falling apart less than three months after I started wearing them. So, now that Merrell can't seem to make Bare Access shoes worth buying anymore, I'm left with the uncomfortable task of having to find decent barefoot shoes from another brand. From what I've seen in my short time of research, it's not looking good; no one does what Merrell did when they first released the Bare Access line of shoes, including Merrell.

Excellent zero drop shoe - par , janv. 06, 2020
5/ 5 étoiles
I used to wear a competitor zero drop trail shoe but their quality has really gone down hill. These Merrells are just perfect. Light weight, great fit, zero drop but with a good footbed so not punishing on the road or trail. Ordered a second pair just in case they change them (please don't)

Light and sturdy - par , janv. 02, 2020

I'm not much of a runner, but I did some light trail running and a HIIT routine recently with these and they feel nice and light while making my foot feel stable. I would wear warm socks if it's cold as the upper mesh is not insulated.

room for improvement - par , déc. 31, 2019
3/ 5 étoiles
I usually wear a size 12 in Merrell sneakers had to size up on this one. I was even more disappointed by the oversized toebox; not sure why they made this one so large. I love the toe room on my Merrell sneakers, but these have an even larger toe box, apparently made for a wide width. I even put in a shoe insert to help fill some of the space. I have had a couple of pairs of the regular Bare Access and loved them. These were a disappointment.

good shoe but sizing is not consistent with other models - par , déc. 24, 2019

I like the look and feel of the shoe but it's not consistent with other shoes including the bare access. I wear a 12 across many styles and with this, 12 was too small, 13 too big. 12.5 would be great, but doesn't exist
