Not for Canadian Weather

Thinking that the price of these boots would define their quality, I purchased them not only because they're the only Merrell work boots which support the width of my feet, but that they would work well on slippery surfaces such as packed snow. To my surprise, they do not work at all in winter. The plastic sole hardens in the mildest weather. When I walk, they sound like dress shoes. Clop! Clop! Clop! Even my cheap $40 Skechers don't perform like this on snow or ice. There is zero traction. At this moment, I sit at home with a back injury because these boots failed me while performing a simple outside task. Any positive features of these boots have been wiped away. How hard is it to design a boot with a proper compound? This isn't rubber, it's plastic. The same cheap plastic that's found on department store shoes. Now I have to purchase a second pair of boots which actually work on slick surfaces. They will NOT be Merrell.

make a 6 and 8 inch version

I would love to buy these boots for work but because they do not meet the minimum requirements of many work sites i am unable to use them for work. Please consider making a taller version of this boot.

This is my 2nd pair and they are just as expected. Great fit, comfortable for long walking sessions, light weight with composite toe and my toes are warmer with composite toe.
