Choprock

I bought these for running a Tough Mudder and it worked great. The drains allowed water to drain easily and quickly, and the traction was perfect. There is enough cushion that running on asphalt was fine during my training. Shoe needed minimal break in. Normally I wear a 7.5, but I’m a 7 in Merrells. I bought the 7 and it fit good. Great shoe for mud, water, uneven terrain!

The only thing I can say so far is that the shoes are much longer than my other Merrell shoes. I usually wear an 8 or 81/2 in Merrels (8 for shoes, 8 1/2 for boots), but I need a 7 1/2 in this particular model. The only issue for me is the length of the shoe.

I bought these thinking they would be perfect for Havasupai and Havasu Falls. I got them in time to break them in. I’ve got 14 miles on them and the worst blisters ever. Even with anti blister socks and band aid blister support it was painful. There are so many other shoes out there, I wouldn’t recommend these.

I bought this shoe for trekking in Borneo where the terrain was rugged and often wet, and I couldn't have been happier. They were very comfortable and the sole handled the climbing arounduneven roots and mud very capably. I wore them with a thin wool sock and leech socks comfortably. The fact that they were so lightweight helped with comfort and also added very little weight in my carry-on. I highly recommend these shoes. I usually wear a 7 or 7 1/2. I got a 7 and it had room for two pair of thin socks.

I just returned from a trip to Yosemite & these shoes were the perfect match! I visited the base of Yosemite Falls and was able to step and climb confidently among rocks and didn't think twice about dipping my feet into the waters. The shoes drained excess water without any problems and dried within/before the hour. Always take extra care on rocks and boulders when wet, otherwise the soles are perfectly grippy. Lastly, break them in before a big hike -- the back of the shoe rubbed raw against my achilles tendon but if not for that, perfect! Thank you,Merrell!

I love the shoe, the idea of the shoe, felt great walking in them for about two miles, but they began biting into my heels around my Achilles, resulting in big blisters. Considering I bought these to hike The Narrows and would prefer to have this shoe considering the flexibility of it in the wet conditions, I may try to modify the shoe myself.

I bought these shoes for an upcoming trip to Maui and when I received them they were huge! I did not buy from the Merrell site, I used a vendor so I now have to pay shipping expenses back and forth until I can find the correct size. I always wear a size 9 but my toes can be seen through the mesh of the shoes that's how large they are. As I read through the reviews on here and other sites it seems that I'm not the only one with this problem. I contacted a Merrell rep through the chat and she had no recommendations as to the sizing difference. If there's a sizing issue (and I'm not the first person) looks like Merrell could provide some guidance as to how to pick a size that fits. I have two other pair of Merrells and they're both 9 and fit perfectly. Very disappointed that I will have to keep exchanging until I find out if the 8 or 8 1/2 will work.

I bought these shoes to wear at the lake but they are comfortable and supportive enough to wear all day . Color of them is fun !!! You have done it again Merrell.... thanks 😃

Wanted to love these shoes, they were so comfortable from the very beginning. However, they allow sand and other debris in but I have no way of rinsing them out. I was stepping on rocks and pebbles all day as we were kayaking on the river. Had to dump sand out of my shoe multiple times. Just from pushing off of the riverbank.

After returning them for a half size smaller, these have become my “go to” summer shoes when it’s cooler or I’m not wearing sandals. Great in the rain or wet grass—haven’t tried them kayaking or other water sports yet. Will see how they do in hot humid summer weather when I travel East in a few days.
