Okay, not great.

This is my 4rth pair of bare access model shoes. I buy a new pair every spring. I have loved every pair I've owned, until now. I'm not certain if it's the materials or there was a change in the cut or styling. This pair doesn't have that trim "close to the foot" cut that I have come to expect with this model. The material around the toe box is "baggy" and puckers along the edges. The shoes have worn an inordinate amount on those puckers and are splitting. Previous pairs I wore until nearly flat on the sole and only replaced them because the foot bed was worn out from me living in them. That being said they all maintained there trim look and I can still wear them. Not so with this model.

Great show with poor materials.

I loved this show at first. I use it for all my road running. It is comfortable and light. The only problem I have with this product is the upper mesh is tearing apart. I noticed it coming apart around 25 miles in. Now at 60 miles, I feel I will need a replacement shoe soon.

Worth the purchase

Was looking into trying out a minimalist/barefoot shoe. For my first time trying out this style of footwear I'm happy I made the change. The shoes are taking a bit of time for me to get use to but each wear gets better and better. For anyone looking into switching footwear to a more "basic" option I highly recommend making these your first option.

High Expectation Met

I own several pairs of Merrell shoes. The fit and comfort of this pair, much like the others, is great! Merrell shoes cost a little more, but the adage is true. Worth every cent!

Most amazing barefoot running/work shoe

The bare flex line is the perfect "middle ground" barefoot shoe that can be used for work or for training. It allows me the cushion my feet need to stay up all day, while still giving me the heel drop my back needs in order for my body to maintain form. The shoe has a large toe box for proper splay and they are the most normal professional looking barefoot running shoes you can find. This means they pretty much go with anything. Thank you merrell for making this amazing shoe. Now all I need is to find a supportive barefoot boot for hikes!
