Order full size smaller than usual I own several other pairs of Merrell shoes, 10.5 is usually a perfect fit. I trusted other reviews and ordered a half size smaller... Could have gone with a 9.5

Update to previous review My first review was written very shortly after recieving my work boots. I am pleased to state that my MOABs are still going strong. It is starting to draw in close to my six month mark and I have nothing but praise here. The seams are still perfect, the soles are still holding up, a couple of the lugs have hollowed out a little but nothing to be too concearned about. The point of my follow up is to point out that while I harped on the slip resistance in the beginning. After I wore these boots for a little while my traction actually increased. Overall I am extremely pleased with the performance of these boots and will be buying more when I wear these out. As I will be getting my second set of insoles when I finally retire my old Chameleon's today. Thanks Merrell, my feet love Y'all.

For me these were to heavy of a shoe. I have foot problems so I could not wear them. I was able to return them with no problem. For me these were to heavy of a shoe. Great Work Shoe This is the most comfortable pair of safety shoes I have ever worn. I have always liked the way Merrell shoes fit me so that history factored in when I decided to try these. The size was spot on for me and the wide toe box is super comfortable. They are easy to walk in and the tread feels very stable in snow and ice too. Very happy with my purchase.

Slip resistance on an oily surface. First and foremost, I have wanted merrell to come out with a work boot for years, as merrell is my only choice for daily use shoes. I have been rocking a pair of chameleons for over four years. I work in an aluminum extrusion plant and all the floors have an epoxy covering with no traction granules. Most times there is hydraulic fluid or draw lube on the floor, so slip resistance is a major concern for me, third in line to safety toe, and comfort. My Moab work boots are great as far as foot bed comfort, the water resistance/proof works great my feet stay dry and do not sweat which was a wonderful surprise. Most water resistant/proof boots cause my feet to sweat profusely as during the summer months it is consistently over 100 degrees in my workplace with the heat index factored in. Now, as far as slip resistance is concerned there is room for improvement in that category, that is why I lowered my rating to 4 stars. I have not had any falls or even close calls to a fall in these shoes, but I have had better performance for slip resistance in the past. My overall impression of these work shoes is that the comfort of these shoes far outweigh the slip resistance. I would say that my work environment is an extreme condition, and that even the best performing shoes I have had in the past lost all their traction advantages within a month and a half. I am getting close to a month in my Moab's and they continue to get more comfortable and are not showing wear at the seams. I am fairly confident that I will make it far beyond my normal six month maximum use time and I am not surprised that the merrell quality is present in their work boot line but I am pleasantly surprised at how the materials are holding up to my workplace.
