Confortable but poor durability I bought these boots for my job that involves a lot of heavy hiking in remote regions. I loved the way they felt from ankle support down to the sole. The big problem for me was durability. After two weeks the leather (though I took proper care of it) started to crack at flexion points on both sides and both boots. Reliability for me is the biggest issue because I often can not reach anybody for many weeks, so I need a pair of boots I can trust. These were not, and I had wet feet due to cracked boots for two months. I used to have much lower quality basic leather boots for two years and this had never happened to me.

Best Motorcycle Adventure Touring Boot I have ever bought This boot fixes all the deficiencies I have experienced in purpose built motorcycle boots. It is comfortable enough to walk around in yet can keep your feet dry in an all day rain storm at 70mph on the highway. I no longer have to pack a pair of sneakers for the evening at my campsite or to walk around sight seeing. The boots are sturdy enough with enough support for motorcycling and importantly the construction has metal eyelets, not those silly ribbon eyelets which have I have had rip apart making the boot useless at the most inopportune time. I hope that far in the future when this pair eventually wears out that you will still be making this model.

Awesome fit, below average durability I've bought these boots a year ago to hike and camp in Alaska. They turned out to be way more comfortable than my work shoes, so I started wearing them every day. I work in a clean, laboratory environment with flat flooring. The sole and heel support are outstanding. I was, however, very disappointed when I got back from some light hiking in Hawaii a week ago to discover that the inner seam on the toe box is blowing out on BOTH boots after only 1 year. I am communicating with customer service about this issue.

Falling apart, Poor design I love the feel of these boots, I love the look of these boots. I love everything with one exception. They do not stay together. I have had a few problems with these boots. (1) the seam on the inside toe of the boot has come apart on my left boot, and I'm fairly certain the right one will soon. (2) the bottom of my soles are falling off. I had then for 5 months before both soles started falling apart. Bottom line - Do not buy them. Buy a pair with a better design.

Great looking and perfect straight out of box I have had two pair of Moab boots I also have Merrell sandals and merrell Moab shoes. I decided to upgrade to the crest bound Gore-Tex boot after hiking trip to the sierra Nevadas. The trip took me and my sons through snow and ice at 10,400'. My merrell Moab boots did well but my feet did get wet by the top. After reading many reviews I went with the crest bound gore Tex . In typical merrell results the boots fit perfectly right out of the box. These boots feel different then Moab by being a bit stiffer. This is expected with design of external bracing. Boot feels great inspireing confident edge placement with out foot roll. Although firm I have no problem kneeling with toe flex. Also should mention the laces pull tight with ease due to metal eyelets .Can't wait to get on a serious trail to put these through the paces. After wearing around town I'm sure I'm in for excellent results.
