Poor construction Do you see those brown mesh parts on the side of the shoe? The only thing behind that is a thin piece of fabric. I purchased the 'dry' version and the first time I wore them on a rainy day my foot was soaked. About a month into everyday use the brown mesh was ripped and even walking through a wet field would soak your feet. If you are looking for a desert shoe thats never going to get wet than this is your shoe, but don't expect any real waterproof quality from this shoe.

Tongue tied Just received these today and have worn them all day....because they are so comfortable. The tongue is connect tightly to the collar of the shoe. As a result they are difficult to put on. But once on, they are teriffic.

Decent all-around hiking shoe! Review is based on experience after 5 days of hiking in Utah and Arizona. Average hike was 7 to 12 miles. Hike conditions ranged from established trails to rocky canyons and boulders. Initial impression: Finally purchased a pair on sale for around $80 something. I was perfectly willing to give that much for this shoe, but not willing to pay the $100+ that you typically see it advertised at. Shoe fit and finish was spot on for me. Didn't wear much until my trip, but they were comfortable for everyday use. During Trip: Shoes stayed comfortable on my feet for the entire trip. Can be hard to get sand out of the ventilation/netting parts, but I looked past that. The tread design grips really well, especially on the sandstone rock we were hiking on. I typically had a thick wool sock on while hiking in these to prevent blisters, and thankfully, I didn't get a single one the entire trip. After the trip: Examined the shoes a little closer once I got back, and so far they seem to have held up. The treads are still crisp and sharp, sole appears to be in good shape, and the exterior of the shoe is in reasonable shape as well. I do have some fraying on the stretch laces that has me concerned, and the interior heel of the shoe has some significant wear on it as well. Conclusion: Overall, I really enjoyed wearing the shoe during my hikes. It stayed comfortable on my feet, gave me excellent grip on the sandy rock surfaces, and held up, cosmetically, better than I had originally anticipated it too. I would be interested to see how well it would have held up after another week of the terrain we were traversing, but that is TBD at the moment. I would recommend this shoe to a friend if given the opportunity, but would highly recommend they lower the price point on this product. $100+ is a little strong for this shoe in my opinion.

This product is poorly manufactured. Within the first two months of owning the product the glue holding the tread to the toe began to separate, the elastic lace frayed, and the lace webbing severed completely. I would not recommend these shoes to others.
