This is a slightly newer version of the sandal I bought last summer, but still essentially the same shoe, I think. First of all, this is the most amazing pair of shoes I have ever owned. I bought these for my 5-week backpacking trip at the most amazing walking shoe store in Goshen, Indiana. I brought along another pair of shoes in my pack, but ended up lending them to my sister and wearing these for the entire trip. These babies got me around France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Italy. I wore them to museums, in public parks, when I went out to bars, on travel days... the list goes on. My feet never hurt the ENTIRE trip, despite walking almost EVERYWHERE and standing around in museums for hours. I live in Chicago, and I was so sad when the weather started to get cold, because it meant I couldn't wear these shoes anymore. In addition, this pair is stylish enough that I didn't stick out like a sore thumb in Europe. The real test was that I was never approached by any street vendors like so many other tourists I saw, because, thanks to my cute Merrell's, they just thought I was a local.
