I've had these boots a few weeks now and have used them in Vermont mud season. so far, as good as it gets: only time will tell about boot longevity. My first concern was toe-box room. Having had toe surgery (bilateral cheilectomy for those who care), I need a boot that does not press or push upon my big toes. Merrell's unusual Wide option is decisive for me over any other boot manufacturer. These boots do fill the no-pain bill. No pain, plenty of room for toes to splay and bend naturally inside the boot. At the same time, plenty of support from the soles than my previous Merrells, a mode no longer manufactured, which were a bit on the moccassiny, thin-feeling side. In brief, I'm very pleased, and hope that these boots -- or something indistinguishable from them -- are still being manufactured when it's time for me to get my next pair.
