The shoes are very comfortable. Waking to work I often have to cross wet ground and waterproof shoes are a plus for me. The shoes are a touch tight in the toe box, but are stretching out nicely with wear. I took them on a trip which required a lot of walking a few days after purchase and had no problems with break-in. I have only worn Merrell shoes for years due to back and foot problems - this pair does not disappoint!

I originally bought these shoes for casual wear but I found they were not as cushioned and comfortable for me as my Moab hikers. I put them away for a while and then rediscovered them this week as an EXCELLENT shoe to bike in! My foot tended to always slip and reposition on the pedals, and this was aggravating my chronic knee issues (I was biking in regular tennis shoes). These Sirens are supportive and firm, do not slip off or slide on the pedals at all! They are also streamlined and airy so your foot doesn't get too hot. I couldn't bike even a couple of miles the other day when I was in my tennis shoes due to my knee pain. Today I biked 8 miles with minimal to no pain! I will never bike in anything else ever again!

Whatever Merrell is doing, keep at it. These shoes, and others i have purchased, are true craftmanship. Excellent materials, design and comfort. Stylish and practical.They last for years!If you're new to Vibram soles, they can be a little sticky until you learn to adjust to them. Also, the metal keepers on this style do tend to fray the laces prematurely.

My previous pair of Merrells were the Siren Sport 2 GoreTex. They needed replacing but the GoreTex was not available so I was advised to buy the Siren Sport 2 Waterproof. I do not find these to be waterproof at all. After hiking my feet come back in a range from slightly damp to completely soaked, depending on how wet it is outside. Although, I love The way Merrells fit my feet and they are absolutely comfortable I am very disappointed with the lack of waterproof. (I also had to purchase this new pair from Scheels. Because after being on the phone with very helpful Merrell customer service for quite some time they were unable to process my order through Merrell)
