Overall, I think the mix master tuff is a great shoe for its intended uses. I use them for urban hikes with my dogs on varying surfaces from concrete sidewalks, to crushed stone multi-purpose trails and traditional hiking trails. I would like a slightly sturdier sole and slightly more cushion for my purposes, but I am still quite happy with the shoe after one month of use walking/hiking 5-8 miles daily.

The shoes fit true to size. They're light and comfortable. I bought them for multiday walking in NYC. They have good cushioning and light support. If you're not used to light support shoes these would be great for less than full day walking. These have worked great for me so far.

I like these shoes a good bit, and think I will like them a lot more once I get them in the correct size. I think they are going to be great trail running/hiking shoes with the tuff rubber toe cap. My complaint is that they run a 1/2 size too big. This seems to be the case with Merrell on their barefoot/minimal shoes. Also, I would like to see the lacing widened up so that they can be tightened down and fit better, the threads are just too narrow to be effective.

These would be perfect if they were water proof. This shoe, in a waterproof boulder/brindle version would be perfect.
