I have purchased this jacket as it looks nice and seemed (while I was in the store) to be quite warm thanks to down filling. Unfortunately, I was wrong here. This jacket feels a bit like a t-shirt. It does provide fairly good insulation around the center of the body: upper/lower back and chest stay warm in winter conditions. However, sleeves feel like they are missing the volume of down. there is just not enough insulation in sleeves to keep arms and elbows warm hence why this jacket feels a little bit like a t-shirt. I have to put something warm under this jacket every time I go outside but... while my arms and elbows feel warm, my chest and back are simply boiling. serious design flaw is perhaps a very good description of otherwise good jacket which looks great.

Thank you for your feedback. We would recommend the Kennebec style for colder, windier weather conditions. Our design team will take your experience and recommendation into consideration.

I recently purchased this jacket to have a warm, mobile, winter coat. There is only one good thing i can say about it, it looks good! Here are the bad parts: 1. It is not very warm. in temp below 40 degrees it starts to fail. 2. it is not very wind resistant. in greater then 10mph it fails. 3. if you don't zip it all the way up the collar sticks into the bottom of my chin which is irritating. 4. the zipper catches on the fabric that is behind it EVERY TIME! 5. when the hood is up it wraps around your face so if you turn your head to look at either side you end up looking at the inside of the hood (very bad for driving i actually almost got into an accident driving last night which was the catalyst to write this review. the final straw if you will) Overall, it has been one of the best looking and worst functioning coat i have ever owned. With a $200 price tag you are better off investing in train ticket down south for the winter.

We are sorry to hear the jacket is not performing like you had hoped. The 600 fill power goose down should do a great job at maintain warmth out there in the elements. Check out a jacket with Merrell Aeroblock for a style that will block the wind for the blustery days.
