Our 4-year-old girl presents an interesting wardrobe challenge. She wants to be girly, but she DESTROYS shoes with her hard-core activity level. The Blue Iris Jungle Moc satisfied her wish to be "pretty", but lives up to our expectation that shoes should last more than two weeks. The fit was true to size. If I have any complaint, it's that the difference between left and right is too subtle for her to easily divine -- but nothing that a black sharpie marking an "L" and "R" on the interior sole couldn't fix!

Here I am buying the exact same shoe for my daughter in the next size up. As a matter of fact she has probably owed 3 or 4 of this Merrell shoe. I spent 2 hours in a mall yesterday looking through stacks of shoes and nothing compares to the these shoes. My daughter is very fussy about fit and this shoe comes in half sizes, which is great. We live in a big city, and this shoe is much more protective than other mesh top slip ons and it functions like a tennis shoe in terms of traction and bounce. Very rugged for a very outdoor child.

These wonderful shoes enabled our girls to get rid of at least 5 pairs of crappy shoes, filling so many roles, easy on easy off, hiking, playing, they can be dressy, sporty, farmy, and are well made. And the color choices made them even more fun. I bought them big to make them last longer, and although big, they stay on very well.
