I had a pair of Snowmotion 8 boots which I thought were the best winter boots ever. Almost three years later, the zipper on the left boot no longer stayed closed. I returned the boots to Merrell and they quickly replaced them with the Shiver boots at no cost. These boots surpassed my expectations and are even better than the Snowmotion 8. Because Merrell went the extra distance (and didn't have to), I will remain a customer for life.

These boots are surpassing my expectations. They are very warm due to the fleece lining and they have passed the waterproof test numerous times now. They are very true to size. I live in Lake Tahoe and these are my winter/snow "leave by the door" boots. I wear them walking the dogs, shoveling snow, on my way to the ski area, around town, etc. I had a previous pair of Merrell boots that I also loved but unfortunately one of the zippers would not stay up. I contacted Merrell to see if they could do something about the boot zipper (after I had owned the boots for about 4 years). Without any questions, they replaced the boot with a newer model for free. Wow! In my opinion, this is reason enough to buy Merrell boots. The customer service is some of the best in the industry. Thank you Merrell!!!!

High quality, great fitting boot. I ordered a 1/2 size up to accommodate a medium weight winter sock - perfect fit. Boots fit great and have easy on and off with the side zipper. Excellent traction and very warm so far at one rainy/wet/cool/damp soccer game and a cold football game. My wife was sitting next to me at the football and was wearing her Uggs which she insists are the warmest boots ever - her feet were cold and mine were toasty - bravo Merrell! Love these boots!

I bought these boots as a quick on/off boot for winter weather in Minnesota. There are many good features of this boot; easy to slip on w/ zippered fit, waterproof, good looking, reasonable price. Where it falls short is the grip in snow, which is good, then transition to a hard surface (i.e. ice, concrete, tile floors, etc.) the sole is slippery and you have to watch your step. Also the boot is very warm, but it doesn't breath and consequently your foot/sock is quite wet when taking off at the door. Unfortunately unpleasant. I don't normally have this problem with my other shoes, meaning I'm not a person with excessively sweaty feet. Wish it was different, I like the boots otherwise. Maybe a more breathable waterproofing and different sole composition would help. Hope this helps make it a better boot for the future !!
