I bought these boots for my dad as he is 6'1 and a 12 wide. Once he put these boots on he finally tells me that his New Balance 12 wide 2E were a little tight. He walks allot on pavement and still wears these boots.

That is so great to hear that you have found him a great boot that fits even better than what he was used to. We are so glad he still loves these and wears them. Thank you very much for the review.

Walking in the pavement.
I thought I'd found my "forever boots" with the Merrell Moab Mids. But I've come around to really enjoying having these Geomorphs as another option in the winter. In return for a little more weight, they provide more stability and rigidity. That can definitely be appreciated in rocky or snow/ice conditions. These are now my preferred boots for snowshoeing. (Wore them to the top of Mt. St. Helens a couple weeks ago!) Less flex is better in those conditions. They're also exceptional with MICROspikes on icy trails. The Vibran tread is outstanding, as expected. Not convinced they're entirely waterproof, however. My socks are always soaked at the end of a trek. Haven't actually just stood in a creek to really test them. The shoelace strap on the tongue interferes with hooking on gaiters, but it's simple enough to restring leaving that lower crisscross out of the loop. To be sure, some break-in period is required compared to the Moabs. I would have offered 4.5 stars, were that possible, but I rounded up.
We have success! Thank you for your great feedback on this style. Great to hear these Geomorph Blaze's get to go on so many adventures, especially snowshoeing.

Snowshoeing, Climbing, Volcanic Terrain, Winter Conditions
I bought these boots to replace my Moab water proofs for light hiking and some casual daily wear. I expected a slightly different style and taller version of the same. What I did receive is a much heavier duty boot, which trades the moab's padding for rock solid ankle support. The insoles seemed hard and flat at first, but within a few hours of casual break-in wear I barely noticed I was wearing them. The construction is such that I have no doubt they will perform on the trails for a long time. Not what I expected but a solid winner none the less.
We are so glad that after a short break-in period these have become super comfortable. The all leather construction make them a very durable shoe to take on the trails. Thank you for your review.

Light hiking, casual daily wear.
This shoe is my favorite shoe to wear. Very comfortable and has great traction for walking and hiking. Made very well and great in the snow too. Attractive and worth the money. I got the boot style for the additional ankle support and it is better in the snow too..
We are so happy this awesome style is working so well for you! Thanks for all of your wonderful comments!!

Everyday casual wear
First time trying them I thought I had made a mistake. I was on pavement for about a mile and they seemed stiff and were not comfortable. Next few times were off pavement and I could not have been happier with my choice. They have now loosened up and even on pavement great. Never really considered the waterproof until I got into some high and very wet morning dew grass and my feet stayed dry.
We are glad you stuck it out through the break-in period and it is great to hear you are enjoying the comfort and performance of the mid-height boot. Thank you for the great review and feedback.
