I usually walk on sidewalks/pavement and find these shoes to be amazingly comfortable - right from the box. I have had trouble with my right foot when walking and these shoes eliminated the discomfort. I have worn Merrells for over ten years - the only outdoor shoe that I wear. (I know, why did I have discomfort if I only wear Merrells? Simply put, my old ones, eight years old, were worn out).

Great shoes--lightweight, comfortable, and easy to break-in. Similar to the Moab Ventilator (also a terrific shoe), but they are more walking than hiking shoes. It's great that Merell's still makes wide widths and it would be good if you added Black and Brindle as choices in wide widths.

I need a wide width shoe and these are very comfortable for wearing to the office or hanging out. These shoes are exactly what I was looking for and the price is right.

After the first few weeks, it seems to be a good solid, comfortable shoe. Only issue is that the arches are a little high.

I'm an older male with worn out feet. I have found Merrill's wide shoes, in general, to be best for the care of my feet; a firm sole, wide toe box and ease of wearing, including lacing, if necessary. The wide width Phoenix meets all these criteria. I need a slightly higher arch support than what's provided but this is easily remedied. Now, the style is meant for a much younger client but beyond a given age, we don't care much about such matters; function over form! My only wish is a larger selection (towards the older set) in wider widths. I realize that the market dictates what stock is offered but if you were to market to the older set, the market could easily carry the expanded inventory.
