I have a pair of Merrell Moab hiking shoes. They keep changing the style slightly but the current Moab Ventilator is probably close to what I wear. My pair of shoes is the pair I wear nearly everyday and is my preferred pair for hiking. I have worn this pair for more than two years. They have been on well over 200 miles of hiking on rocky trails. They have been in mud, water, sand, and whatever else I come to. I need to replace the liners about every 3 months and the laces have been replaced at least once. (I write to Merrell and they usually send a free pair of replacement laces.) After my last couple of hikes, this pair was looking a bit crusty and I was considering getting a new pair finally. However, a hosing off, a bit of brushing, and a dry in the sun, and these still look ready for a couple more years. I have had other shoes last a long time but nothing like this. These have already lasted at least twice as long as the Merrell Waterproof Chameleon I used to wear and thought were the best pair I owned up to that time. I don’t often promote products but I am very impressed with these shoes. Many of my friends are now wearing them as well.
