I have cranky feet! And most shoes make them crankier. In spite of this I decided to tackle El Camino de Santiago, a 500 mile pilgrimage in Spain. But what to do about those cranky dogs? After trying two other boots/hikers, I found the Phoenix...and in a 2E no less! From the moment I put them on - no whines from below. They are easy on my feet and have never failed to support me on my training walks. My principal concern is whether or not the sole is tough enough to handle both training and the pilgrimage. I guess I'm gonna find out in the fall. But, these are great mid boots!

We are so thrilled to know that these are the lucky boots to accompany your feet on the 500 mile pilgrimage in Spain. Let us know how they do after the long trek. That is great that your dogs have stopped barking since you found these Phoenix Mids. Thank you for sharing your experience so far with this style.

In my old shoes, I was practically a cripple when trying to walk on the concrete floor at work. I could go about 3 hours until I was in agony. But, my Merrills solved all my problems. I am pain free. I can hardly believe it, but these shoes saved my feet and my job. I can hardly wait to try them on a hike. By the way, our driveway, barn steps, and chore paths are usually filled with ice in the winter. Guess who isn't slipping.

I love Merrell boots ever since my first pair back in the 90's. The Phoenix Mids are now my favorite purchase. They are light, Big on traction, and waterproof! I wear these to work in a hospital where I am constantly up to my soles in wet, sometimes not so clean areas; these boot Breathe so I can wear them all day without feeling like my feet are swamp fodder.
The fit is perfect; by far the best fitting boot I own, right out of the box. I wore them to work the first day I got them and didn't have any of the usual new boot issues, Perfect. I use them to hike in the Hocking Hills and the waterproofing is flawless.
Great work Merrell!

Great shoe, but not for HOT climates!

Great shoe, very comfortable. Working in a war zone and hot climates this shoe is not suited for it, but it is very comfortable and when I received them I put them on rite on the box. WOW they felt awesome. Only issue was My feet sweat something terribly. Well I guess your feet would sweat being these are waterproof shoes. So in short....the shoe has a good fit, true to size, light weight, and well made. Just not for the very hot climates. I will continue wearing them id cooler climates

Thank you for this valuable feedback. Since these are a waterproof style they have an extra membrane in them which does not allow them to breath as much as non-waterproof, ventilated options. We are glad you still love them and they will work great for cooler climates.
