I originally purchased these shoes for trail running but now I wear them for everything. They are the best, most comfortable shoes ever! They're great for daily activities, day hiking, going to the gym, and for running on trails (can't say anything about running on pavement because I haven't tried it). There is plenty of room in the toe box for toe splay and the heel design is perfect - these are the first shoes I've ever worn without getting a blister (my feet blister if you look at them wrong). The soles are super grippy too - when hiking at Carlsbad Caverns my friends were sliding on the slick, downward sloping pavement but I had traction the whole time (and the grip is great on rocks/boulders as well). Please Merrell, never discontinue this design.

I love these shoes! Can't wait to get another pair or two when the updated design comes in wide width. I alternate my two pairs for daily wear, running, light hiking, and even climbing ladders. They are comfortable for my wide toes and the outsoles are great for everything so far!

Lightweight, flexible, and, importantly, available in wide width.

I have had these shoes for about a month now, and they are quite possibly the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I was experiencing some pain on the lateral side of my right foot, but this has gone away since wearing these shoes. It is as if they were made just for my feet!

I have been running in these shoes for about five months, on all surfaces and up to 13 miles (so far), I and have nothing really bad to say about them. They are comfortable and attractive for everyday wear, secure and flexible for running, and they have held up very well. I have just a few complaints. First of all, the shoelaces tend to come untied very easily if I don't double-knot them, which is a little annoying but could be easily remedied (either by me or Merrell) by using a less-slippery shoelace. Secondly, I do not have particularly wide feet, and yet the regular width of this shoe was way too tight across my toes -- it just plain did not fit correctly. "Barefoot" style shoes should tend towards wider toeboxes, I think, to allow for that awesome splay that grants so much stability and comfort. The wide version of this shoe fits me great, and as I said, I love it -- but, okay, I'll be real with you: I'm jealous of the awesome bright colors that are available for folks who somehow fit into the narrower width! It seems like most of Merrell's other barefoot styles are also pretty narrow and DON'T come in wide sizes. Wanting a pair of running shoes with slightly more cushion for long road runs, I recently bought a pair of Bare Access Arc 2s, but they are borderline wide enough and I am considering returning them pending a comparison with a pair of Altra Zero Drop shoes I have also ordered. If the Altras are wider, they'll probably win. So, Merrell, please: more colors in the wide size, and wider shoes in general, to really support the barefoot form you purport to encourage!
