Started wearing the boots on Oct 16 th for an Alaska Trip. I was doing work on several Army Installations. The first day, the boots were subjected to moderate snow and ice and everything was great. The following two weeks my socks were damp although the shoes were never submerged. I suspected when the snow melted from the top it may have leaked into the rubber/leather interface or perhaps the leather absorbed the snow and moisture. The shoes feel great, but I feel if I was truely hiking in back country with snow, the shoes would be wet.
