Lucky enough to receive a pair of Trail Gloves before the release date. Couldn't be happier with this shoe. For someone wanting to do the minimal thing, this is one of the best options out there. Extremely light weight and flexible with no midsole. Little extra outsole on the forefoot gives just enough protection on trails, gravel, and anything else you may encounter. It does fit a little long as well as wide in the toe box, but the lacing system lets you snug it up well to prevent any sort of sliding. I've got roughly 200 miles on the shoe, and it's still holding up great.

Fit is great and the feeling is great but the quality is lacking. I first started with the True Glove and the glue holding the liner in came undone. I thought it might have been due to my feet sweating alot in the True Glove so I exchanged them for the Trail Gloves. Had the first pair for two weeks and the glue holding the toe cap and the midsole to the shoe came undone and the shoes began falling apart. I then exchanged them for another pair. Got the shoes home and took them out of the box only to find the stitching on the top of the tongue was not complete and the tongue was already fraying!! I want to try them one more time but might opt for the New Balances instead.

These are great shoes. They are my first barefoot type shoe and plan to buy again. You can use them for anything. It would be great if Merrell made a waterproof mid to version for hiking. Overall great shoe!

I enjoy wearing this shoes during all my Kung Fu and conditioning training. It took several weeks to get used to this shoe since I had to learn to use different muscles but so it was also with Kung Fu. Now I forget that I am wearing any shoes until people remind me that they look cool with my uniform! By the way, this is my second pair. Thanks Merrell, strong work.

Running has always been my nemesis. After 35 years, I've decided to conquer this monster. I read a few books and research papers on running related injuries and human anatomy. I decided to try a good pair of New Balances ($120+); I couldn't run 3 miles without serious knee, lower back, and ankle pain. I decided to go the barefoot route. Everything seems to be pointing out the more we fight to control our bodies the worse our problems become. So I bought these shoes. First month I walked everywhere with them; I was amazed at how much longer and farther I could last in these shoes. Second month I began phase 1 of endurance training, 3 to 6 miles 2-3 times per week. Now I am running 6-10 miles a day, everyday, and training for an Ultra-marathon. I haven't had any leg problems or lower back problems since I ditched the cushioned/motion control shoes.
