I bought these at REI. I took a lot of time for the fitting because I wanted to wear them for a very long hike next month and I knew the boots would make or break the whole trip. They fit great and felt great. However, my first trip out for just a few miles was pure torture. My toes were numb by mile 2 and it only got worse from there. When I was home and just standing or doing regular walking they felt great. Fast forward to a whole lot of reading about different pulse points ion the foot. Apparently the traditional lacing method was hitting the top of my foot at exactly the wrong spot for good circulation. I found alternate lacing methods on YouTube and tried again. After new lacing technique I walked 9 miles with ease and comfort. I will need to figure out how to get the right socks in place to avoid the pressure zones, but at least I now know what is going on. These boots were very comfortable on less than smooth terrain.
