This coat is awesome! The lines are nice and flattering- unlike some of those boxy North Face coats that EVERYONE has. I did not want what everyone else had, and I did want a hood. Flattering lines are really important to me- I didn't want to look like a marshmallow. I am usually a small, and a small fits perfectly. It is exactly what I was looking for in a long down coat......... a flattering coat that was NOT black (or white!) and I can look stylish while still being warm (recess duty, grocery store, anywhere in Michigan winters). I also ordered the Insulated Ellenwood, which I reviewed separately, for when I am not going to be outside for a long time or want to look a bit more refined. (The Ellenwood is not going to keep me warm for long periods outside in our Michigan winters, so I purchased the Isadora for that purpose.) I am already getting tons of compliments, and the best part is that I feel great in it! Nice shape, slightly longer in back, great color (Birch) awesome long length, nice hood, light-weight but really warm, machine washable, matches with black or brown boots.

This coat cuts a flattering silhouette. I've received compliments on it. The fuzzy lining inside the pockets is delightful. I cinch down the hood when it's cold. Otherwise, the hood is generous enough to protect my face from precipitation and it buffers the wind. The length is nice and the L/G size fits over my ample bottom. Merrell replaced the coat for me once because the zipper pull kept coming off. New coat is just as gorgeous, though the zipper is still a little fussy. It comes through the washer beautifully.

Warm? Yes. Practical? Yes. Michelin tire-like? Not so much, thanks to its slightly cinched waist. It's what I wear with my Merrell winter boots when I'm walking the dogs, shoveling snow, doing errands, or out-and-about on impossibly cold nights. I debated buying this coat, but I'm SOOOO happy I did. The hood was an absolutely key feature for me when making my decision to buy this coat. I love little, yet important, details like easy-to-grab hood-tightening toggles; the water-resistant two-way front zipper with outer snap closures; and collar fleece lining. I bought this coat after moving back to the Northeast from the PNW. I couldn't have made the transition without it.

I have had this coat for a few weeks now. I absolutely looooove it. The coat is very warm and light. It fits great and looks great too. I was sick of the North Face jacket that everyone has, so this is a good alternative. Love love it.

I'm 4'10" and I ordered an extra small in white and black. I love my coats. They are amazingly stylish, comfortable and warm! Only one thing would make it a 5 star jacket for me and I would buy more as back-ups, please finish the top interior back with nylon. I don't want my back to look like a duck's with all those feathers. Don't wear black when wearing these jackets. Impossible right?! It seems like an easy fix. I'm trying to find a seamstress that I trust to do that with the two that I currently own now.
