Bought the all out rush looking for a slightly different shoe than I was already using. I use the Trail Glove 2 and Ascend glove for trail running. After a recent injury I wanted a shoe with a nice bit of cushioning. When the shoes arrived first thing is that they look great in the dove grey and lemon colour. These shoes are sooooo comfortable! I now wear these everywhere! The thing I like about these shoes is the upper material which is really tough and a nice rubber toe bumper adds protection. I have never understood why companies still use flimsy breathable fabric fro trail running shoes which tears the first time you hit a stone. The shoe is really tough and is perfectly breathable for me. Overall I rate these shoes very highly. I find Merrell shoes a perfect fit for my feet compared to any other company. I do however have a couple of minor gripes. Firstly I do find these can be a bit to high off the ground for more technical running and you do need strong ankles as your feet do turn over occasionally due to the height. The other thing is the fit around the heel. There is plenty of cushioning and it is very comfy but these shoes lack the real glove like heel fit of shoes like the trail glove, which is a little disappointing. The lace system does however keep your foot very snug and secure within the shoe. The grip is also very good on all dry surfaces and even some of the wet stuff but im not sure it would be as good when the winter rains come round again. If your not sure then I recommend you give these a try. A great shoe. (A perfect shoe for me would be the same upper shoe as this which half as much stack height and a more claw like grip for the british winters, This shoe is however almost perfect for me for very long summer trail runs with maybe a little mud thrown in for good measure)

Long trail runs and everyday walking (because they are so comfortable)
