Have been wearing these boots for an hour every day for six weeks now (November to mid January) tramping through the New Forest with the dogs. They have been over every kind of terrain and water/mud hazard imaginable and have kept my feet toasty warm a dry. They are easy to walk in (no slipping on heels) and keep my poor 62 year old feet well supported. For me this is very important as I suffer with a bad back and walking over rough ground has sometimes been excruciatingly painful. Wearing these boots I feel as though I can walk for ever. Expensive but all things considered, well worth the money. Size wise... I would normall be in a 7.5 but find that with all Merrell footwear a size 8 is perfect.
