I bought a pair of these boots but within 20 months they were falling apart, which at the price they are is very poor. I took them back to the retailers who didn't want to know. After complaining to Merrell they told me to send them to the customer complaints dept and I have just received a new pair in the post. I'm very pleased at the response by Merrell - a lot of companies would not treat their customers complaints with seriousness and respect - so WELL DONE to Merrell. This of course doesn't take away the fact that the boots fell apart so easily - something other reviewers have noted. The boots are comfy and light, but surely not durable enough.

I had a pair of these boots for 18 months, after which they were completely worn out. They were never completely waterproof and got worse quite rapidly, and the sole of both boots started to break away from the toe after a couple of months. However they are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. I did a 13 hour coastal walk in them and was happy to keep them on after I finished the walk. I replaced them with Salomons - but might buy another pair just for walks on dry ground.

These are supremely comfortable boots. But I bought a pair of the Goretex Moab Mid boots and after very light use, for a boot of this quality, the sole of the boots started to separate from the toe on both boots. I also found the sizing to be smaller than UK sizes so I had to buy the next size up. Which in my case was a size 12 instead of 11. As they are quite expensive I'm very reluctant to buy another pair. Sadly I'll have to look for an alternative !

These boots are very combfy but when you are out walking in the wet or even due wet fields you dont expect to get wet feet when they are advertised as waterproof.

Firstly they are very comfortable. But they are not waterproof as stated. When new after walking 50 yards through damp 2 inch deep grass my feet were both soaked, i may as well have just worn my socks as the result was the same. Not the usual Merrell standard.
