Just a pair of these for an all round shoe and have been so impresses with these shoes. From walking around icey streets to frozen Forrest trails these kept my feet warm and dry with lots of grip. First thing that impressed me when trying them on was the quality of build and how they fit like a glove. Never have I had a shoe that's was so comfortable. I will be looking out for more of merrells products in the future.

Interested in Mojo's review. Although I loved my Merrells the same faults have occurred with mine too, albeit after 10 months. A pity as I too had had a good experience with Merrells beforehand. I will replace these with other Merrells but am looking for reviews in the hope of getting a more reliable pair. Actually, less than a years wear isn't terribly good value for money!

Having discovered Merrell shoes about five years ago, I used your website and reviews to make an informed decision about which product to buy to replace my superb pair that died of old age. I have purchased a pair of Men's Refuge Pro GTX, which I am expecting to perform as good as my previous pair. What I cannot get my head around is, having paid out over a £100's, the box contains no care instructions and there is no help or guidance on your website. Not all your customers are experts in the hi-tech products you are selling. Considering the only issues reported by users are nearly all about water proofing issues, why is there no on-line guidance on shoe care???

I have only had these a few weeks so will update the review. So far these boots get the thumbs up, I bought them after my Merrell Pivot boots let me down and deteriorated after 6 months of light use, and Amazon refunded me as per Merrell 1 year Warranty. As I unboxed these they looked and felt far superior to the Pivot or Chameleon or the Moab boots by far! In looks, feel, and trying them on and wearing them - in fit! A size 8 is exactly a size 8 and even with the Gore Tex they aren't too narrow or tight but perfect! They look good, are solidly built with a stiff sole, beautiful construction and attention to detail, all around. They look ultra cool with jeans or cargoes - not geeky like most 'hiking' boots tend to. They are extremely comfortable to wear, as they're lightweight and fit like a glove, with the bellows tongue and ant bacterial treatment protect from water, cold and smell alike! The sole unit is excellent, with good grip, in the wet too - cushioned but with enough 'feel' so driving with them is fine - you wont accidentally push the wrong pedal! The Gore tex lining isnt 'stiff' or rigid which is usually the case with Gore Tex XCR boots - hence they're perfectly flexible enough for all sorts of walking. I've worn them for urban use so far and theyre superb! In the cold and wet they've worked brilliantly! I must say, out of all the Merrell shoes these are easily the best looking, best constructed and most versatile - I have no doubt they'll serve me well on the trail as well - but as I said, I will update the review. they are expensive, but worth it as you get what you pay for! So if you're looking for a pair of lightweight, comfortable, waterproof breathable cool looking multi purpose trainers for urban or trail use - I can't think of a superior pair to these!
