Bought these on the eve (!!!) of doing 200 km of the Camiño Portugues to Santiago. In other words they where broken-in on the way. Never got a blister, callus or discomfort. Coped well with rain, mud and rocks. Quite cool despitethe hot summer days. Could ask for a little more support going downhill. Highly recommended.

Most Helpful Critical Review
Be very warry about these boots. I've had them for 13 months (just outside Merrell's 12 months warranty), and the toe has come away from the sole on both boots. They are now not waterproof, and to be honest, have fallen to bits. My last pair of boots lasted 8 years. £100 for some boots that fall apart so quickly is very poor.

My son is doing the Gold D of E. We were complete novices about anything to do with walking/hiking. Brought these boots, as they felt the most comfy. Broke them in for a couple of college days and wore them last weekend. Son walked 25 miles in wet conditions. They were great, no leaks or blisters. Obviously feet were a little sore, but hardly surprizing really, as he never walked more than a couple of miles before, and certainly didnt have 60 kg on his back before. So I would highly recommend these boots. Very pleased that his feet did not blister - but he did also wear the sock liners under walking socks. We need advise as to how best to clean and protect them, they are very muddy. Do they need to be re waterproofed? We dont want to cause them to leak! Any ideas will be gratefully received! Thanks

Bought these on a recommendation from a friend in USA. NO BREAKING IN JUST WENT FOR 10 MILE HIKE OVER BRECON BEACONS HIGH WINDS RAIN. GROUND WATER ALL OVER THE PLACE DEEP BOGS THE WORKS !! GREAT TEST FOR NEW BOOTS THE ANSWER SUPERB DRY NO INGRESE OF WATER VERY COMFORTABLE NO BLISTERS SAME CAN NOT BE SAID FOR MY OLD LEGS !!!

The most comfortable boot possible. I have owned these boots for nearly a year. Worn them in hot and cold, wet and dry, on the flat and up and down hills. Usually 10-12 miles at a time. Always dry inside and incredibly comfortable. Never had a blister or any soreness. well done Merrell.
