Doesn't last as long as they should! Almost exactly two years after purchasing these boots they started to fall apart. The outer lining has cracked on both boots and they are no longer waterproof! The metal boot hooks were bent after a few months and there are lot of loose threads that I continually need to cut. I have had other Merrell products that have last 5+ years and these boots do not live up to that standard. I would not recommend them as they do not last and aren't worth the money!

Very disappointing boot I did a lot of research when I bought these. Was very excited the first year both comfort and warmth. Year 2 the boot started breaking in the front and the lace holder broke (fabric) on one boot. Went to cobbler did a patch fix. Year 3 the hole back part of boot ripped from fabric on both boot and multiple tear in front. It's like if the fabric cracked from the cold. Had a pair of Salomon for 5 years with heavy hiking and never had an issue like this. I did no heavy activity but walk to work, walk the dog and play with kids. I do not recommend this product at full price and not even on sale price.

Did not last as long as anticipated... I've had these for three years now and the "waterproof synthetic leather upper" is torn in two places on the left boot, exposing what appears to be the Thinsulate material. This "synthetic leather" appears to have a limited shelf life and seems to get more and more fragile over time. These were extremely comfortable and by far the warmest pair of boots I ever owned. I just wish they could have lasted longer... The original laces also came apart relatively quickly (outer "casing" tore away, exposing the inner lace, eventually causing the lace to break), within first season.

"The review to read" Hey there people First off, I live in North Central Canada. I jog and trek straight trail only. No streets unless crossing highways. Were talking -35c to -50c weather. Yes, I jog with fellow friends in this weather at night for ease on the eyes. We have been testing boots. The chameleon 8" & 6" have greatness and flaws. We don't have mountains. Straight forest and cold. The 8" are good for snowfall, MUD/Spring and cold. Hard on the achilles and metatarsals. Unless your experience jogging 10 km in cold. As far boots go of this type, still waiting for NEWER flexible MERRELS. Chameleon 6" are everything you experienced joggers want. It's great for all that movement. I ran all 4 seasons with these. Summer time only when it rains hard and hitting the mud. Fall and spring for being wet and predators we encountered. Winter time is smoothest up to -40c, as long as you keep it at a 5-7km distance at max. Only flaws is laces come undone, Gotta double tie/knot them and metatarsals are prone for injury like me.. I am 6'5" and 290 now. I was running hard at 255 with the boots before injury. I imagine all you joggers don't run in cold like us, I understand. It's nuts but we love it. Get THE CHAMELEON 6"s to start off. The 8" are for extreme weather running. Ge them if you jog in blizzards, heavy rain and winds on trails. Anything mother nature throws at you that isn't near city of concrete. p.s. all boots fall apart, I am amazed my size and abuse, that they didn't rip a lot sooner. Good Damn grip & light. ALL HAIL MERREL!!!!
